Amigo persoal de Aza\u00f1a e de Ortega, autor d\u2019 <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><i>Unha punta de Europa (ritmo e matices da vida galega)<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"> e, das non menos co\u00f1ecidas <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><i>A morte. Meditaci\u00f3n<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">, <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><i>Rosal\u00eda de Castro ou a dor de vivir<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">, tam\u00e9n escribiu magn\u00edficos contos. <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><i>Jeanette <\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">\u00e9 un deles, inclu\u00eddo na escolma de <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><i>Contistas espa\u00f1ois do s\u00e9culo XX<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"> (Aguilar, 1963).<!--more--> <\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"gl-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Nun ton melodram\u00e1tico <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><i>Jeanette<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"> relata a historia dunha pobre rapaza e das vicisitudes \u00e1s que se tivo que enfrontar, particular e especialmente en Par\u00eds. Son tempos de bohemia no barrio Latino, no bar <\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><i>du Panth\u00e9on, <\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">de<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><i> jazz-band, <\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">de<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><i> petites femmes<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">, desas \u201cflores de Par\u00eds\u201d que poden ser seducidas e enganadas por un estudante da Sorbona. Unha delas, Jeanette, despois de insistiren os presentes, \u00e9 quen de detallar cada suceso da s\u00faa triste vida. Se decidiu fuxir da vila natal, onde traballaba nunha f\u00e1brica de bot\u00f3ns por un xornal de miseria, foi porque, embarazada do seu mozo, este abandonouna. <\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"gl-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Unha vez en Par\u00eds, soa, sen roupa, pasando fame, aconsellada por unha malvada do oficio, unha noite \u201cdirixe os seus pasos cara aos Campos El\u00edseos\u201d. O se\u00f1or convidouna a comer. O chofer, que conduc\u00eda un magnifico auto, acercounos at\u00e9 o restaurante. Unha vez dentro, o cabaleiro preguntoulle onde viv\u00eda. Ela, nerviosa, dixo: \u201cSe\u00f1or, se vostede quere\u2026\u201d. \u201cNon, non \u2013interrompeuna el- dime o enderezo da t\u00faa casa\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"gl-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Chegados ao lugar sinalado, \u201co xentil e candoroso acompa\u00f1ante deulle douscentos francos\u201d. Ante tal confesi\u00f3n, os asistentes non daban creto e quer\u00edan saber quen poder\u00eda ser aquel espl\u00e9ndido e xeneroso cabaleiro. \u201cPodemos sabelo?\u201d, preguntaron con expectante curiosidade.
